Though we are not talking specifically about nouthetic counseling this week, we are talking about what Meredith Kline’s biblical theology might have to say to us about how we should counsel people in our churches.  First we talk about verbal and non verbal ways of helping each other.  Then we talk about some general principles of love, grace, and care.  We hope you benefit from this discussion. Please listen, tell others, and let us know what you think!

Staying with our Meredith Kline Applied series, we start a new section on counseling.  This week we critique nouthetic counseling.  The main reason for this is it was the counseling model that we were taught in seminary.  It is also a popular model in Reformed churches.  However, we also critique other counseling models as well.  We hope you benefit from this discussion. Please listen, tell others, and let us know what you think!

This week we wrap up our discussion of Todd’s article Two Kingdoms & The Spirituality of the Church.  We address some specific and well-known objections to Kline’s distinction between the covenant of grace, and the covenant of common grace.  Please listen, tell others, and let us know what you think!

This week we continue the Meredith Kline Applied series with a discussion of Todd’s article Two Kingdoms & The Spirituality of the Church.  If medical missions didn’t seem to directly affect your life, the things that we discuss in this episode will.  Please give this episode a listen, tell someone you know about the podcast, and let us know what you think!

We start our new series: Meredith Kline Applied.  Part 1 of this new series is our discussion of the Minority Report of the Committee on Foreign Missions of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, authored by Meredith Kline and Paul Wooley.  We discuss whether it is fair to frame the question around whether the Christian ought to care for both body and soul.  Next, we discuss the significance of Jesus’ miraculous healings.  Then we talk about whether the gifting of individual Christians matter for deciding whether to have medical missions.  Finally, we discuss Sola Scriptura and who has authority over medical missionaries.
