If you appreciate Meredith Kline’s theology, this is a must-listen episode.  He always talked about law and gospel, works and grace.  Since this is so closely tied to justification, he would look for opportunities to work these things into lectures and conversations.  Take notes and learn some of the most important hermeneutical principles!

This week Lee and Chris discuss the other side of the eschatological sanctions: the curse sanction.  We also discuss judgment and what it means to know good and evil.  This subject can get very heavy – even depressing – but we make sure to bring it back to the gospel.  The good news is that we do not bear the curse or the final judgment because Jesus has borne the curse for us!

This is one of our most interesting conversations, yet.  First, we pick back up with why glorification is necessary.  Next, we talk about technology and culture.  Finally, we talk about the glorification God would have clothed upon Adam and Eve’s mega-family if they had not fallen into sin.

This week we begin chapter 4!  This episode will blow your mind.  First, we tackle Kline’s disagreement with the Westminster Confession of Faith chapter 7, section 1.  Next, we talk about the two trees: the Tree of Life, and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.  Finally, we talk about how Adam would have attained to glorification.

This week we finish up chapter 2 with the metaphor of the divine shield. Then we turn to chapter 3 and talk about the image of God. It’s true that we covered this extensively in our series on Images of the Spirit. But this week we talk about the imperative to be like God that is embedded in our being made in God’s image.

We probably should have named this episode: Bacon!  Or, peanut butter and chocolate.  But in this episode, we talk about consecration.  Furthermore, we talk about animal death before the fall.  Most noteworthy, we answer arguments against the idea of animal death before the fall.  We forgot to mention Lee’s paper on animal death during the episode, so click on the link below and benefit from his clear, helpful explanation.

Due to our improved health, we are back to Kingdom Prologue.  First of all, we talk about the presence of the Glory-Spirit at creation.  Furthermore, we talk about eschatology.  Eschatology comes before soteriology.  In other words, the ultimate, heavenly kingdom of God is a reality before salvation becomes necessary.  Most noteworthy, we talk about the Sabbath rest.
